Steinberg

The geography of a growing region plays a decisive role in the quality of a wine. The location in which the vines grow seduces connoisseurs and arouses their curiosity about the unique terroir. With the ‘silent wine tasting sites’, you can discover with all your senses the speciality of the Durbach winegrowers - the steep slopes - explore, marvel at and discover the strengths of the wines with three exquisite examples. Immerse yourself in the world of wine and let yourself be enchanted by the magic of the vineyards.

You will now taste three wines from the Durbacher Steinberg steep slope. All three wines come from the Durbacher Winzergenossenschaft.

Durbacher Winzer eG is the contact point for Durbach's cooperative winegrowers. Around 250 winegrowers cultivate their vineyards in the Durbach Valley on a full-time or part-time basis. The members combine important preparatory work in the vineyard to produce the wine. In Durbach, viticulture is lived and loved - and you can taste it.

In addition to the winegrowers' co-operative, there are 13 other wineries in Durbach that cultivate and market the wines from the approximately 460 hectares of vineyards.

Durbacher Steinberg - steep, barren, unique

The Durbacher Steinberg towers majestically above our house. The perfect south-facing orientation, the Moselle-like slope and the granite weathered subsoil produce fantastic wines.

Wines from the Durbacher Steinberg vineyard are particularly expressive and have their very own, unmistakable character. Very berry-flavoured, spicy and intensely mineral wines are the result of a special microclimate.
