What does ‘Black Forest Soul Food’ mean?
Black Forest Soul Food stands for cuisine with character and provenance. Head chef Jan Hoffmann draws his inspiration from the countryside around Durbach, the Black Forest, the Rhine Valley and the vineyards, combining Baden’s down-to-earth spirit with the flavours of Alsace to create dishes that truly reflect their origins. Mushrooms, game and berries from the Black Forest, vegetables and fruit from the Rhine Valley, enhanced with wild herbs, juniper and homemade stocks. The menu changes daily; vegetarian and vegan dishes are a given, and the wines are sourced exclusively from Durbach.
Do I need to book a table at the restaurant? What is the seating capacity?
We recommend booking a table, as seating at Makidan is limited. Please secure your place – and your ticket to your very own culinary journey – well in advance via our website, at reception or by telephone.
